Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 26, 2026
1. Our Commitment
Den of Cards is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to provide equal access to all of our visitors and customers.
2. Conformance Target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA by our v1.0 public release. WCAG defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, and addresses three levels of conformance — A (lowest), AA, and AAA. Level AA is the standard most commonly referenced in legislation and procurement, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act.
Our ongoing accessibility efforts include:
- Providing text alternatives for non-text content (card images, icons, decorative graphics)
- Maintaining sufficient color contrast for text and meaningful graphics
- Making all functionality available from a keyboard
- Providing clear navigation, semantic landmarks, and consistent page structure
- Ensuring compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technology
- Using proper heading hierarchy and semantic HTML
- Providing visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Associating form labels with their inputs and surfacing clear error messages
3. Measures We Take
Den of Cards takes the following measures to support accessibility:
- Treat accessibility as part of design and code review, not an afterthought
- Use ARIA roles, labels, and live regions where native HTML semantics fall short
- Test with keyboard-only navigation and at least one screen reader (NVDA / VoiceOver)
- Maintain a single, consistent design system for color, typography, spacing, and focus states
- Honor user preferences such as reduced motion (
prefers-reduced-motion) where applicable - Provide skip-to-content links so keyboard users can bypass navigation
4. Compatibility
Den of Cards is designed to be compatible with:
- Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), and TalkBack (Android)
- Screen-magnification software
- Speech-recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
The site is tested against current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Older browsers may render correctly but are not actively tested.
5. Third-Party Content
Some pages on Den of Cards integrate third-party services:
- Stripe Checkout: payment forms are hosted by Stripe and follow Stripe's own accessibility standards.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: our anti-bot challenge is provided by Cloudflare and inherits its accessibility behavior.
-
Partner store redirects: when you click through to a
partner retailer (e.g., via
/go/{partner}), the destination site has its own accessibility posture which we do not control.
While we work to ensure all first-party content meets our target, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party services or partner retailer pages.
6. Known Limitations
Because we are in alpha, we are openly tracking known accessibility gaps that we intend to close before our v1.0 release:
- Some card images do not yet have descriptive alternative text beyond the card name
- Color-coded game/class indicators are also distinguishable by text label, but contrast on certain badge variants is being audited
- Card-search results currently surface a large grid; we plan to add an optional list/table view for users who prefer one
- Modal dialogs (add-to-deck, image preview) still need a complete focus-trap and aria-labelledby pass
- The deck builder's drag-and-drop interactions need a keyboard-accessible alternative
If you find an additional barrier we have not listed here, please let us know.
7. Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Den of Cards. If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have a suggestion for improvement, please reach out:
- By email: [email protected]
- Through our contact form — please include “Accessibility” in the subject line
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 2 business days and to propose a remediation plan within 10 business days.
8. Assessment Approach
Den of Cards self-evaluates its accessibility using a combination of:
- Automated tooling (axe DevTools, Lighthouse, WAVE)
- Manual keyboard and screen-reader walkthroughs of priority flows (browse, add to cart, checkout, deck import, account)
- Color-contrast audits of every component variant in our design system
We have not yet engaged an external auditor. We plan to commission a formal WCAG 2.1 AA audit prior to our v1.0 launch and will publish the resulting statement on this page.
9. Updates
This statement will be updated as our conformance work progresses, when third-party services we depend on change, and after any external audit. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
